We had a fun night last night at the Charlotte Street Hotel, Soho. The auduence were so lovely and appreciative and everyone could not have been more helpful if they tried. Very briefly met the very beautiful Sian Lloyd and had an absolute giggle at comedians Wes Zaharuk, Andrew Roper & Dave Ward... a fabulous evening! x

What a bloomin amazing week I have just had!!!!!!

I had the absolute honour of recording this week with... Pete Brazier!!!!! It was incredible, fun, relaxing, stimulating, brain blowing... amazing! I now understand why he has such a big name across the globe... and the list of people he has recorded... I was stunned! I feel I have been very spoilt and extremely lucky to have been asked to record with him!!!! Keep an ear out for the finished product in the future!

Danny & I had a fantastic evening at the South East semi-final heats held at the New Crawdaddy Club in Billericay Thursday night. We met so many lovely people, sold many discs (huge thank you!) and have some wonderful new friends to join us on our musical journey.

I have to say the whole New Brunswick Battle of The Blues team have done so much promotion I seem to be thanking them non stop... but again a sincere thank you to everyone. I also have to mention The New Crawdaddy Club... amazing! This club has such a warm and welcoming feeling, the sound was amazing, the staff couldn't do more to help... and they all do it for the love of music. If you are a blues fan then this a wonderful club to visit.

A huge congrats to the Little Devils who made it through to the final (and the chance to win the honour of performing at The Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival held in Fredicton, New Brunswick Canada in September: www.harvestjazzandblues.com/

VooDoo Lounge, December 2011
At the begininng of December I had a wonderful evening back at The VooDoo Lounge, Stamford performing a solo at a 'No Country For Old Men' show. The gutsy Miss Izyy Cox popped in from Austin, Texas to perform her murder ballads.... supported by 'Old Boy Rootz', my mates 'Southern Discomfort', (Normal for Norfolk) 'Barney' and me. Was fabulous to catch up with Isi from Grange Farm Studio and the one and only Mr Dan Donovan. Luckily for us he had his camera at hand!

Songwriting news

My love, as many of you know by now, is composing songs... I have too many to ever perform live so in 2011 I joined an A&R agency to write and record songs specifically to briefs for use in TV/Ad & Films. It has and remains to be a steep learning curve but one that is wonderfully challenging for me. In my first 6 months I have had 4 tunes sent to major ad agencys in New York and LA. The last forward was just last week for my tune 'What I Would Do for Just A Minute Of Your Time' . My aim now is to double those forwards and fingers crossed write a tune that is the perfect fit and hopefully hear a Lexie tune played on telly!

BBC Introducing - BBC Radio Cambridgeshire

So although Danny and I are currenlty rehearsing very hard at 'The Blues'... we are still finding time to pop into our local BBC Introducing radio station BBC Radio Cambridgeshire on Friday 6th to play a few live tunes. We're thinking of leaving the blues at home that evening and just having some fun... we'll see how we feel on the night!

Room With A View chosen to be used on Ink Pixel film

I was so happy this morning to wake to a message to say another of my tunes 'Broken Parts' has made it's way to a major Ad agency. I'm so so wishing one will finally be used. I wish I wish I wish!!!! x

I'm very very pleased to say that Danny is back on form after his long awaited op and is feeling so much better. We had an excellent rehearsal last night, recording is now high on the agenda here in 'The Shed'. We did tester last night and from the rough's this morning it's sounding good!!!! Really looking forward to our next show as the Lexie Green & Danny Moore duo at Jools Hollands Jam House, Birmingham. Tuesday 27th December. WHOOP WHOOP!!!

Peterborough Evening Telegraph interview

Had a phone interview this morning with Peterborough Evening Telegraph of which a small piece will be included in Wednesday's edition. The interview was firstly to promote a Blues contest I've entered (New Brunswick Battle of The Blues) and secondly they were very interested in how I went from a Mum & housewife to becoming a songwriter and performer. I think they are going with the 'Bored Housewife' angle which is kind of intruiging... 'Bored Housewife' was the first tune I wrote 5 years ago. ** Click the 'About' tab for more info on my bio *** Yesterday the photographer popped over and we did a super fast photo shoot around the yard... some in the studio, some by the trailer and a couple in the old barn. Was a fun shoot! Hopefully will see if I can link some of the pictures to facebook and twitter.

Still whistling away after a fantastic day @ The Oxjam Cambridge Takeover. Can't thank everyone enough for organizing, takeing part and supporting the festival.

A nice quiet month ahead, just the one unofficial gig supporting a friend of mine at a lovely local pub. A chance to continue work on recording, The album is slowly coming along, although my songwriting project is taking my time up at the moment. I have managed to upload a new tune or two "What I Would Give For ust A Minute Of Your Time". I was busy working on a complicated song and just needed a brain break for 5 minutes, and that's what came out. A 1 minute song that took 5 minutes to write, 10 minutes to record and 20 minutes to upload onto You Tube! Ooo, just a reminder that you can purchase all singles here and only on here directly from The" Store" using PayPal.
